U15B Cosmos post huge win over nationally ranked team
The A3 Cosmos (Boys U15 NCSL Division 1) won a tough game by the score of 2-1 against Calverton Cerritos yesterday at Bell Branch Park. The Calverton Cerritos team is currently ranked 3rd in Maryland by GotSoccer.com. The first goal was scored in the 23rd minute by Alex Colagero, who cleanly finished on the back post after a hard shot by Jake Mazzei beat the goalkeeper but rebounded off the crossbar. A3 played a high pressure game across the field and had several chances to score, but went into halftime 1-0. In the second half, A3 continued to pressure and in the 55th minute Jake Mazzei hit a 20 yard blast that hit the side net giving the Cosmos a 2-0 lead. Cerritos fought back and scored with 10 minutes left in the match and continued to pressure forward until the final whistle. Congratulations to Coach McGlynn and the A3 Cosmos!

It is once again time for A3 to partner up with the American Cancer Society to fight breast cancer. As we have done in past years, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the ACS. Our donations have grown each year and I'd love to get into the thousands of dollars this year. Please order one for kids, parents, grandparents, etc. and wear with pride. The orders must be placed by Sunday 9/21 at 11:59 PM.
