United headed to National Championships!!

Our U15B A3 United completed a fabulous run through to USYSA Region 1 Championship by winning all five of their games this past weekend.  The boys played the state champions from Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Vermont in the preliminary rounds and won their games by a combined score of 13-3.  As a result, they advanced to the semi-finals where they faced off against the state champions from Rhode Island.  Although the outcome of the game was 5-0, it was a physically grueling match and United suffered numerous injuries.  On Memorial Day, an under-manned United was matched up against the Massachusetts state champions.  The match was competitive and despite having the better chances, United could not break through until the second half when a bouncing ball in the box was hammered into the net.  The boys from Massachusetts mounted a furious rally and put heavy pressure on United's tired legs for the last twenty minutes.  Despite the injuries, pressure, and tired legs, United stood firm in the face of adversity and managed to win the championship game 1-0.  It was a truly great moment for the goalkeeping, defense, team and club.  Former CAC President Phil Rollison commented, "That's really awesome and something the community should be proud of."  Good luck in the Disney World National Championships later this summer.  United players:  Ryan, Cody, Willie, CJ, Tomi, Stefan, Braden, Paul, Devin, Chris, Dolph, Chris, Jerry, Jayson, Nick and Collin.

Our U13G represent Maryland in New Hampshire.

Our A3 Ponies were in New Hampshire this past weekend to represent the State of Maryland in the Region 1 finals of the Presidents Cup.  On Saturday and Sunday, the Ponies played against state champions from New York, Virginia, and Rhode Island in the preliminary rounds.  The Ponies advanced to the semi-finals where they met up with the state champions from Massachusetts.  In a very close match the girls fought through regulation time and forced overtime before coming out on the short end 2-1.  The Ponies had a great experience and played like champions throughout the weekend.  Claire, our MSYSA representative, had nothing but kind words and positive reinforcement for the girls and remarked that they had represented Maryland with dignity and class.  Well done Ponies.  Team members:  Jenna, Grace, Becca, Catherine, Madison, Lauren, Colleen, Alyssa, Hannah, Lindsay, Camryn, Michelle, Jennie, Lauren, Angela, and Rachel.
