U09 Boys NCSL supplemental tryouts

UPDATE: Tryouts for this Thursday are cancelled. Anyone interested in trying out should contact Coach Roper at Ballpark01@aol.com to make arrangements or have them out to indoor practice.

A3's U9 Boys Select/Travel team (A3 Arsenal) is looking to fill out our Winter/Spring roster with an experienced and dedicated player or two. We will be holding two evaluation/practice sessions on Tuesday, November 12th & Thursday, November 14th. The sessions will take place from 5:00-6:30pm on the D Fields at Bell Branch.

Please note that playing on a select/travel team requires a higher level of skill & commitment...from both the players AND parents. Players will be expected to attend up to 2-3 practices per week, and commit to both the Winter and Spring seasons. Parents should expect an increased time and financial commitment...ie: more weekly practices, farther game day travel (up to an hour and a half), participation in 4-6 tournaments per year, select team uniforms, etc.

If your son was born after August 1st, 2004...and you feel he is both qualified & interested in being considered for the Arsenal select/travel team, please plan on attending one or both of these sessions. Contact coach Jay Roper at Ballpark01@aol.com or 941-773-7908 with any questions.

United headed to National Championships!!

Our U15B A3 United completed a fabulous run through to USYSA Region 1 Championship by winning all five of their games this past weekend.  The boys played the state champions from Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Vermont in the preliminary rounds and won their games by a combined score of 13-3.  As a result, they advanced to the semi-finals where they faced off against the state champions from Rhode Island.  Although the outcome of the game was 5-0, it was a physically grueling match and United suffered numerous injuries.  On Memorial Day, an under-manned United was matched up against the Massachusetts state champions.  The match was competitive and despite having the better chances, United could not break through until the second half when a bouncing ball in the box was hammered into the net.  The boys from Massachusetts mounted a furious rally and put heavy pressure on United's tired legs for the last twenty minutes.  Despite the injuries, pressure, and tired legs, United stood firm in the face of adversity and managed to win the championship game 1-0.  It was a truly great moment for the goalkeeping, defense, team and club.  Former CAC President Phil Rollison commented, "That's really awesome and something the community should be proud of."  Good luck in the Disney World National Championships later this summer.  United players:  Ryan, Cody, Willie, CJ, Tomi, Stefan, Braden, Paul, Devin, Chris, Dolph, Chris, Jerry, Jayson, Nick and Collin.

Our U13G represent Maryland in New Hampshire.

Our A3 Ponies were in New Hampshire this past weekend to represent the State of Maryland in the Region 1 finals of the Presidents Cup.  On Saturday and Sunday, the Ponies played against state champions from New York, Virginia, and Rhode Island in the preliminary rounds.  The Ponies advanced to the semi-finals where they met up with the state champions from Massachusetts.  In a very close match the girls fought through regulation time and forced overtime before coming out on the short end 2-1.  The Ponies had a great experience and played like champions throughout the weekend.  Claire, our MSYSA representative, had nothing but kind words and positive reinforcement for the girls and remarked that they had represented Maryland with dignity and class.  Well done Ponies.  Team members:  Jenna, Grace, Becca, Catherine, Madison, Lauren, Colleen, Alyssa, Hannah, Lindsay, Camryn, Michelle, Jennie, Lauren, Angela, and Rachel.

United to invade New Hampshire!

Our U15B United completed an impressive run through the Presidents Cup this past weekend by defeating Rush Swoosh 97 2-0.  In the multi-weekend tournament, the boys won their games without conceding a goal.  The victory in the final, at Mt. St. Mary's campus in Emmitsburg, gave United the honor of representing Maryland in the Region One finals in New Hampshire later this spring.

Ponies to represent Maryland in New Hampshire.

The U13G Ponies displayed real toughness and determination to win the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association Presidents Cup this past weekend.  The girls fought through a multi-week tournament and played against some of the best teams in the state of Maryland.  In the championship this past Sunday, the girls defeated MSI in a thrilling match which ended 2-2 after regulation, 3-3 after overtime, and won 3-1 in penalty kicks.  The payoff is the well-deserved opportunity to represent Maryland in New Hampshire later this spring.  Well done girls and good luck in New Hampshire.

A3 players participating in High School soccer

Unlike other academies, we strongly believe that all players should get an opportunity to represent their high schools on the soccer fields.  In an effort to recognize our outstanding student-athletes and their contributions to many local private and public high schools, we've created a new page on our site.
